Montagne Magique Ski School is made up of small group of highly qualified ski instructors. They have been in Nendaz and the 4 Vallees for years – each having their own passion for skiing and the mountains. Their teaching expertise will help you enjoy you time on skis whether you are a beginner or skiing off piste!

CHARLOTTE

Ski Instructor

Qualification: BASI Level 4 ISTD
SWISS Patent

Charlotte has been working as a ski instructor in Nendaz for the past 10 years, where she’s lucky enough to live all year round! She has a deep rooted love for skiing and the mountains. She has passion for all parts of skiing from lapping the moguls, playing in the trees or skiing the piste she is constantly trying to improve her own skiing as well as others. Often seen with a trail of kids behind her, her enthusiasm for skiing and the mountains is endless!

Originally from Devon, she’s always loved the outdoors and was lucky enough to start skiing at the age of 6. During her time off from teaching she will be found skiing for herself or touring up the mountain!

PIERS

Ski Instructor

Qualification: BASI Level 3 ISIA Alpine
BASI Level 4 Teaching

Languages: English

Piers has spent over ten years working in the Alps and has been based in Nendaz as ski instructor for five seasons. During that time he has got to know the 4 Vallées and believes it to be one of the greatest ski areas he has skied in, with plenty to offer for levels of ski lessons.

Piers is currently working towards his BASI level 4 Qualification and the ISTD stamp which is the highest qualification in British snowsports.

Outside of skiing Piers enjoys a variety of sports including squash, hiking, wake-boarding and mountain biking. He also loves cooking and in particular BBQ'ing! Piers' favourite time of the year is the spring when there is some great morning ski conditions followed by an après barbecue.

SANDER

Qualification: Swiss Brevet Federal
German Staatliche
Austrian Staatliche

Sander is known for his amazing skiing, terrain knowledge and love for nature. He was born in the Netherlands and started skiing when he was 4 years old in the Swiss Alps. He started working as a snowsports professional in 2000.

He mostly coaches skiers improving their off-piste technique, guiding them safely whilst always finding ways of improving their technique. Mountain safety is his other main priority during these trips, and so great care is taken regarding hazardous terrain and risk management.

Sander also works for the Snow Safety Centre. He has worked for many years as an SSC ski guide, providing training in mountain and avalanche awareness. Therefore he always knows the latest risk management and search & rescue techniques.

In his spare time Sander is usually freeriding high up on the mountain, cruising down steep slopes or through narrow couloirs and is always on the lookout for fresh new routes.

FINBAR

Ski Instructor

Qualification: BASI Level 3

Finbar grew up skiing in the Scottish mountains where he fell in love with skiing at an early age. Exploring the natural off piste terrain in Scotland led to him becoming an established freeride skier who competes at international level.
Since finishing school Finbar has completed four seasons in the Alps and one in New Zealand. He has a wealth of knowledge in the ski industry with experience in not just instructing but also coaching, rental and retail.
On his days off you’ll find him going upside down or out competing at another resort.

MIKKEL

Ski Instructor

Mikkel first put in ski’s in France with his twin brother when he was 4 years old, igniting a true passion for skiing. From the age of 14-16, he left Denmark and was based in Bruson, Verbier where he competed in the junior Freeride World Tour.

Having been in Nendaz since he was 17, he has dedicated his time to pushing himself as a freerider, competing as well as starting his teaching career. He is one of the most dedicated skiers out there, his enthusiasm and love for skiing and the mountains is abundantly evident.

CHRIS

Ski Instructor

Qualification: BASI Level 3

Chris has been teaching all sorts of people to ski in Nendaz for the past 17 years so he knows the
area extremely well. He has a passion for helping people develop their skiing to their full potential
and sharing the fantastic seven star Quatre Vallees experience with them. In addition to traditional
alpine skiing Chris is also an avid telemark skier and keen ski tourer and loves sharing his love of the
mountains with anybody who will go out with him.
In the summer Chris has worked delivering yachts around Europe and keeps ski fit riding bicycles up
hills in the Alps, Pyrenees and Dolomites: almost as much fun as coming down them on skis in the
winter!

 Verified Chance encounter with lasting relationship
First engagement was us coming down the Yellow Slope in Siviez where we were maybe a bit too ambitious.  Charlotte and the team saw us and took control.  Fast forward 2 seasons later and we go down the Yellow slope with ease, mostly due to Charlotte's team.  

Now - think phobia of heights and speed and then combine 4 Valleys Red and Black Slopes.  For one that would only venture on the blue Siviez slope, to overcome these phobias and have the 4 Valleys open up to her was a distant dream.  This was achieved through Charlotte's team.  They are patient, understanding and not in it just to babysit, but to really elevate your ability to elevate your experience.  Cannot recommend enough.

Charlotte was able to offer lessons and a flexible schedule where the other schools could not. Nothing was too much trouble for them; a delight to deal with. it was my daughters (16 & 20) first time skiing and, thanks to the instructors provided, they both are keen to go again. My eldest didnt want to ski and had decided she would hate it before we got there. Her instructor Chris turned that around; she loved it (and could ski!!) after 2 days with Chris. Charlotte is an excellent teacher. Perfect confidence boost and refresher for a frequent skier.  She’s got great ideas and really took time to help me put theory into practice. Been skiing my whole life (43 y.o.) but never had formal instruction.  Was very concerned, at a technical level, that I was making skiing hard on myself.  Turns out I was.   Tom helped me through some drills and it forced me to focus on some of my habits that I can now work on in my own time.   Highly recommend and worth the time and cost.  Verified Highly Recommend Private Ski Lessons Nendaz
I was looking for a private ski lesson that would make me feel like I made good progress in the session having had some bad experiences in the past. I had a three hour lesson with Charlotte which was so beneficial. She quickly established my level and worked on the areas of my skiing that needed addressing. It was done in a very relaxed way and she taught me basic techniques that I can not believe I had never been taught before as it was a game changer. I felt so much more confident after the lesson and spent the rest of my week putting it into practice. Charlotte took our 3 children for 4 days and coped admirably with the 3 levels. She held their interest, taught them brilliantly, and the improvement in all was huge.  Verified Amazing Coaches - took a group of almost beginners to black runs in 1 week
Probably the best ski coaching you could ever have. They were responsive, engaging and professional from start to finish. We are a family of five with mixed abilities, ages and fitness. Charlotte and Rich were amazing, they made learning fun for the whole family, with lots of games and exercises. They are not your ordinary ski instructors but coaches that can handle a diverse group of individuals and bring them all to the best level they can achieve. It started with getting us all through the basics. Then with astute observation during each morning they gave us all individual tips and coaching to improve. We all started on the baby/beginners slope on day 1. After 4 days my wife and I were comfortable on the red runs, my daughters on the black runs and my son completing itineraries and moguls. I had two 3hr lessons with Charlotte at the beginning of the week. I started to learn to carve properly and even tackled some black runs. Charlotte was really thorough with my technique and gave me lots of things to work on for the rest of the week. A big thank you for being so patient with us all! And also showing us the apres bars!
