What age can my child start ski lessons?
We tailor lessons to each child's confidence and ability rather than a strict age cut-off, but most children start from around 3–4 years old with our Kids lessons.
Do I need to bring my own equipment?
Yes, your child will need their own ski clothing (jacket, salopettes, gloves, goggles). Skis, boots and a helmet can be rented from a rental shop in Nendaz — poles aren't needed for kids' lessons.
What should we pack for the day?
Along with their ski clothing, it's a good idea to pack snacks and water to keep energy levels up between runs — a day on the mountain works up an appetite! If needed, the instructor can carry these for your child during the lesson.
Will my child be with other kids, or can I book for a small group?
Lessons are fully private — either one-to-one or with siblings/friends in a small family group, at no extra cost. Your child always has the instructor's full attention, however many are in the group. Get in touch to book.
What if my child is nervous or has never skied before?
That's completely normal, and exactly what our instructors are trained for. Lessons are paced around your child's comfort, with plenty of encouragement to build confidence gradually.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as possible, especially during school holidays and peak weeks, as availability is limited with private lessons.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If the lifts are open, we will teach — we stay flexible and adapt the day to the conditions, always prioritising your child's safety and comfort.
Do I need my own insurance?
Yes — all clients must have their own personal insurance covering skiing, including piste rescue and medical costs. We recommend checking this before your child's lesson.
Do I need a full 4 Vallées lift pass for my child?
Not necessarily — a local Nendaz-Siviez pass covers plenty of great skiing on its own. If you fancy a day exploring Verbier, you can simply upgrade your pass for that day rather than buying the full 4 Vallées pass for your whole stay.
Is the lift pass free for young children?
Yes — for the current season, children born in 2019 or later ski free. This cutoff shifts by a year each season, so it's worth double-checking the exact date when you book.
Can I get a discount on my child's lift pass?
Yes — buying your lift pass online in advance (rather than at the ticket office) gets you a discount on daily passes, so it's worth booking ahead of your trip.
