Your Epic Pass May Already Cover This: Most Skiers Don’t Know It<\/h1>\n

If you’re weighing Epic Pass Switzerland options, here’s something worth knowing: an eligible Epic Pass may already include five consecutive days of skiing across the Verbier 4 Vall\u00e9es ski area in the Swiss Alps, the interconnected network that includes Nendaz, not just the village of Verbier itself, and a lot of North American skiers don’t realize it.<\/p>\n

It’s easy to miss. Epic Pass marketing is built around Vail, Breckenridge, Park City and Whistler, the pass’s flagship North American mountains. But Switzerland is part of the program too, and it opens the door to skiing terrain that feels very different from a typical Epic Pass day at home.<\/p>\n

What you’re actually getting access to<\/h3>\n

Verbier 4 Vall\u00e9es, Switzerland’s largest ski area, comprising six connected sectors: Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon, La Tzoumaz and Bruson. The area has around 410 km of pistes, extensive freeride terrain and reaches 3,330 m at Mont-Fort, where the views extend toward the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc and Grand Combin.<\/p>\n

It’s a different scale and style of skiing from many North American resorts: high-alpine terrain, long descents, interconnected villages and plenty of terrain to explore.<\/p>\n

Why the Nendaz side of the valley, specifically?<\/h3>\n

Verbier may be the internationally recognized name, but Nendaz is directly connected to the same 4 Vall\u00e9es lift network. That means you can stay in Nendaz and still access the wider ski area, including the terrain around Verbier.<\/p>\n

Nendaz also gives you a different base for exploring the region, with hotels, apartments and chalets, as well as restaurants and village amenities (see our guide to things to do in Nendaz<\/a>). And because it’s part of the same interconnected ski area, you don’t have to choose between staying in Nendaz and skiing the wider 4 Vall\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

For families and skiers who want private instruction, Nendaz is also home to Montagne Magique Ski School, which offers private ski lessons<\/a> for children and adults, including English-language instruction, as well as guiding across the wider 4 Vall\u00e9es<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The part that trips people up: skiing terrain you don’t know<\/h3>\n

A European ski area this large can take some getting used to. The network is extensive, the terrain varies considerably between sectors, and conditions can change quickly in the high Alps.<\/p>\n

That’s where a private instructor or guide can be useful, particularly on a first visit. Rather than spending your first day figuring out the mountain’s layout, lifts and connections, you can have someone who knows the area help you make the most of your time.<\/p>\n

The logistics, briefly<\/h3>\n

Flying into Geneva Airport is one option for reaching Nendaz. Geneva is approximately 165 km from Nendaz. By public transport, you can travel by train from Geneva to Sion, then continue by bus to Haute-Nendaz.<\/p>\n

US citizens generally don’t need a Schengen visa for short stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period, provided they meet the applicable visa-exemption requirements.<\/p>\n

The currency is the Swiss franc (CHF), not the euro.<\/p>\n

English is widely used in the resort, and English-language instruction is available. In particular, Montagne Magique Ski School offers lessons with English-speaking instructors.<\/p>\n

So, does your Epic Pass really include it?<\/h3>\n

For eligible pass holders, yes. The current Epic Pass program provides five consecutive days across the whole Verbier 4 Vall\u00e9es ski area, including Nendaz, not just the Verbier side of the valley.<\/p>\n

There is an important catch: not every Epic-branded product qualifies. For example, Epic Day Passes do not include Verbier 4 Vall\u00e9es, and certain other pass products have different restrictions. Epic Local also has restricted dates.<\/p>\n

So before planning your trip, check the current terms for the exact Epic Pass product you hold.<\/p>\n

If you’re eligible, those five days don’t require an additional 4 Vall\u00e9es lift-ticket purchase. You’ll still have the normal costs of getting there, staying there, eating, renting equipment or taking lessons, but the included Epic benefit covers the eligible lift access.<\/p>\n

If you have an eligible Epic Pass, yes. The current Epic Pass program includes up to five consecutive days across the whole Verbier 4 Vall\u00e9es ski area, which includes Nendaz, so you’re not limited to the village of Verbier. However, eligibility depends on the specific pass product. Epic Day Passes, for example, do not include Verbier 4 Vall\u00e9es. Check the current terms on EpicPass.com before booking.<\/p>\n

Are there blackout dates?<\/h4>\n

It depends on your pass.
